Rice Summer Sessions are a great way for you to get ahead or on track with your degree program. Join a summer session course and take advantage of even smaller classes that offer more intimate and hands-on learning experiences while keeping you connected with the Rice community.
We encourage you to use Rice Summer Sessions to stay on track with your degree program or explore new learning opportunities. Please be sure to meet with an academic adviser to discuss your degree plan.
Summer 2018 Course Schedule
The summer 2018 course schedule will be posted to Rice's Course Schedule in February. Any additions, changes or cancellations to the schedule will be posted on that page as soon as they are received.
Enrollment Process for Rice Students
Currently enrolled Rice students should register online via ESTHER as normal. Please familiarize yourself with and adhere to all registration and payment deadlines as noted on the Summer 2018 Academic Calendar. Currently enrolled Rice undergraduates are also eligible to register for up to three hours of organized research courses tuition-free. May 2018 Rice Graduates
A Rice student who graduates in May 2018 is eligible to register for summer 2018 courses as a visiting postbaccalaureate student only. Any credits earned for summer 2018 are not eligible to be applied to a previously awarded degree. To register for summer 2018 courses, these students should follow the directions for visiting domestic college or postbaccalaureate students. The application fee will be waived for May 2018 Rice graduates.
Rice Graduate Students
Currently enrolled Rice students should register online via ESTHER as normal registration. Please familiarize yourself with and adhere to all registration and payment deadlines as noted on the Summer 2018 Academic Calendar.
